Thank you, featherheadfop (I'm sure the way you read the bad puns is just fine), and everyone else who has submitted their files while I've been swamped with the anniversary program (and thanks to Catherine for updating the first post for me)

as soon as I have time to edit my section (i.e. after thursday is FINALLY over), this book will be all done with recording. Thanks to everyone who contributed!

It'll be posted in "listeners wanted" in the next few days :)

This is my first listening of materials at LibrVox and enjoyed it immensely.
What a great site for browsing, hanging about, and of course participating.

And what a great way to come across works and treasures that I never knew or heard about before.
Didn't know about Gideon Wurdz and the existence of "The Foolish Dictionary" until sniffing my nose around this forum. Great find!

From his writing, what an awesome and creative way to remember language. Not in section 17, but in another section...I particularly like his description of
'Income'...using the reference to 'coma' and defining 'money which works while you sleep.'
I think it's a good mnemonic and method to memorize and increase vocabulary. I'm currently learning Korean and often look to split words up and form associations with other words and images I already know, maybe even form a riddle, to help me remember the word.
Reading and listening to parts of this dictionary has given me more ideas to try out in language ideas.....

And...yes...the section on Classical Names....it's stimulating to see how history or mythology is tied in to the present times....

Look forward to doing more down the road...

Hello,

I will be on vacation Tuesday August 22 through Sunday August 27, and will probably not have access to a networked computer during that time.

Edits for this project are being worked on, and it'll get cataloged hopefully relatively soon after I return. Messages like this are being stuck on all the threads I'm MCing for.

Thanks!
