This is one of my favourite books! I'd love to read it. Let me know, Gord, thanks.

Gord, I just sent you an email from another address, please ignore that. Didn't read the instructions carefully!

A heads up to all book coordinators: Ive updated the guidelines for how to be a book coordinator: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=425

Probably the only new information you will need is this:
Collect the following information for every file: reader's name, reader's webpage url (if applicable), runtime in hour/minute/second format --- 00:32:14. Save this information in a text document (Notepad, MS Word, etc.) to be emailed to us later. You can have the readers get this information to you by posting it in the thread, sending a private message, or sending an email, whatever works.
This shouldnt take much extra time and will make the cataloging process much smoother and quicker. Thanks!

I've got you signed up for chapter 3, Rohit!

That leaves just ONE chapter before we are fully signed up.

(If you want to reserve Chapter 4, Leek... just say so. You can change your mind later, but it might get snatched up, otherwise!)

Let's finish this off, shall we? I'll do the remaining Part 5, Chapter 3-4.

Hello All,
I thank everyone for their patience.
I have just uploaded Part One, Chapter One to yousendit and am waiting Gord's critique. (As I wrote in my note to Gord, with breath held and fingers crossed).
I am hopeful that my first attempt at this will be equal to the enthusiasm and comraderie that exudes from all of you at librivox.org.
Thanks again,

W00t!!!

Congrats, Highway! That first recording is always the hardest. They just get easier from here on in.

Your recording was well worth waiting for! You've got a great voice and an excellent sense of drama. The audio quality was top notch. I thoroughly enjoyed your chapter... now get out there and record something else! :)

Gord,
Thank you for your kind words and encouragement.
I have another London piece in mind, part of a collection of short stories, but in that I don't want to sidetrack the dialogue here, in this thread, I will contact you privately.
In the meantime, thanks to all of you who have encouraged my participation.

Here's my version of Part 1, Chapter 3:

http://www.gordmackenzie.com/librivox/fang_p01_ch03_london.mp3

I had forgot just how chilling (pun intended!) that sequence was. I remember it being quite gripping when I read it as a child, but as an adult, I found it absolutely terrifying!

John Carpenter's got nothing on ol' Jack London.

Brrr...
