Thanks - I changed your link so it worked - - the uploader only likes letters numbers and _ it hates apostrophes

Hi Charles,

Your reading was wonderful, I hope to hear more from you. We do need to correct some of the technical settings though. The file is in stereo and we need it in mono so in the menu go to Tracks and Stereo track to Mono. Once that is done, we need to set the project rate to 44100 instead of 48000; at the bottom left corner of the window is the Project Rate, just set it to 44100. There is too much silence at the beginning of the recording so you need to highlight and delete about 5 seconds of it. We don't need the LV disclaimer at the end of the recording so you can just highlight and delete it too and leaving only 5 seconds of silence at the end here. And one last thing is the ID3 tags which are missing. When you export the file out, a window will open for these tags. Set them as follows:
Artist Name: Mark Twain
Track Title: Aurelia's Unfortunate Young Man
Album Title: LibriVox Short Story Collection Vol. 042
Then export the file out as an mp3 and re-upload and we should be all set.

Earlier I completed and posted "The Making of a New Yorker" by O. Henry (1862-1910).
Because the recording contained considerable noise, particularly in the middle section, I redid it and just now re-submitted. The second attempt should be improved.
The source is http://www.gutenberg.org/files/3707/3707.txt. The upload URL is http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/arb/shortstory042_newyorker_wjb.
The length is 14.2 MB or 15:32 min. The name I want associated with the recording is Bill Boerst.

Hi,

This is my first contribution, so please let me know if I did anything wrong.

• 11:47; 10.7 MB
• I would like my name to appear as Amy Wilde. No URL as of yet. :)

Thanks!

Hi Amy
Everything I need is there and the file name is right - great start :D

Our DPLer will be along sometime to have a listen.

I've added you and your catalogue name to the database - and you will be linked in the catalogue to here http://librivox.org/newcatalog/people_public.php?peopleid=4843 - (you can find this any time by clicking on your name in the Magic Window (in first post in thread)) . Only one entry yet though :D

Welcome to Librivox
