I've fixed and reuploaded Buckingham Act I - here's Act II:

I'm still not sure about the accent - whether the attempt is justified, or if it's just so jarringly bad that it'll be distracting. He has a bit more to say this act, so that might be more apparent, now. Please feel free to shout if it is.

Speaking as an Englishwoman, I'll tell you honestly that is not at all bad. :D

Vowels are very good, and the 't's are nice and sharp - the only dead giveaway is when you say 'oo' where an Englishman would pronounce 'you' i.e. 'dooteous' which would always be pronounced 'dyooteous' (i.e. rhyming with beauteous) and 'multitood' which would be pronounced 'multit-yood'.

Right, I thought about it at the time and couldn't face doing it again! But I will.

Thanks so much, Ruth! Back to the old drawing board...

I'm a newbie here, but I'd like to request the role of James Tyrrel.

Do we have to do an accent? I'd be afraid it would sound cheesy.

If you like, I'll read Lord Mayor. He will not break your guidelines on multiple parts. :)

Hello Nullifidan, DecoDog, and 1evilmofo and welcome to LibriVox! We recommend that all new volunteers do a short test recording to make sure that all the technical stuff sounds okay. Please read the Newbie guide to recording (linked in the first post) and submit your test, and then you should be good to go!

DecoDog, I'll put you down for Prince Edward.

1evilmofo, since you requested Tyrrell first, I'll put you down for that role. Nullifidian, would you like to choose a different role?

And nope, accents are not at all necessary. Feel free to read like yourself. :)

1evilmofo and Nullifidian, could you let me know what name you'd like to appear in the catalog? You can use your forum name, your real name, or whatever. Thanks!

I've put myself down for the role of the Scrivener - hope nobody minds. I've always quite liked that bit, and it doesn't conflict with Queen E.

Here is the second messenger. This is the second upload of this part. The first time I had left space between "second" and "messenger" in the file name so it did not work. I hope that does not mess us up.
