This is much earlier than I anticipated. See how useful insomnia can be. I might even go paint my kitchen now. Paint fumes should induce sleep!

We're now lacking only three chapters! I've sent PMs to Cori, Inka and Rochelle asking if they still wish to read. If I don't hear back from them in a few days, those three chapters will go up for grabs.

I'm really excited about this one -- we've got so many great readers here!

ok ok ok....

I've finally managed to overcome my 'I hate my voice why am I doing it this will sound so awful' hurdle enough to edit what I've read. I hope it is useable...

from you send it

Now I can go hide under the table again

sorry for making you wait so long.

--edit--
I seem to be doing everything wrong at the moment :( - My computer wouldn't let me export to mp3, so this is a wav file, and on top of that I forgot to rename it before uploading...

Well you can come out from under the table, Inka - that recording is wonderful! I've also taken the liberty of converting your reading into an MP3 file. You can find it here:

Thank you, Chip! Both for the encouragement and the conversion. I'll try to get that exporting problem fixed before doing more reading.

Well your voice really IS nice - I'm not just saying that.

Let's take a look at why you can't export MP3 files. What software are you using? Audacity?

Yes, I'm using Audacity. I'll try re-downloading as the thread in the 'Need Help' Forum suggests when I'm back home.

Did you remember to unzip the LAME.dll and plunk it into the Audacity folder? Once that's done, Audacity will ask you where it is and once you tell it, there's generally no more problem.

Wow, thank you Inka and Chip! Sounds great, Inka :)

I haven't heard from Rochelle in a month or more, so I'm going to put that last chapter up for grabs now. I can't believe it, we're almost done!

ok, I was just being stupid :) Audacity kept asking me whether I wanted to download it when I tried to export - no, I don't want to download, I've already got it! - and once I gave in and answered yes it didn't try to download anything but just asked where the dll was.

So mp3 export working now, no more excuses not to record.

Don't worry about it, Inka. We all had troubles with this when we were new to it. Those days will quickly recede into slightly rosy memory pretty quickly now. Congratulations on getting it working!

Now we'll be looking for all SORTS of reading from you... ;)
