the poem is called the knives by an anonymous author. my recording is 02:25.45
http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ce/ghohor007_shorttitleinoneword_author_readersinitials.mp3 (2).mp3

this poem is called the death child by william sharp. my recording is 01:24.70

Welcome, grubbs!

First, we’ll need a link to the source texts of your recordings.

Second, the filenames should be formatted as follows:

ghohor007_shorttitleinoneword_author_readersinitials.mp3

…which means your files should be named:

ghohor007_knives_anonymous_xx.mp3

and

ghohor007_deathchild_sharp_xx.mp3

respectively, “xx” being your initials.

Third, your recordings are in stereo. They need to be mono. If you need any help in changing this, let me know.

After you’ve made the changes, just upload them and put the links here as you did originally.

Fourth, I need to know by what name you wish to be listed in the catalog and if you have a web-site you want included with your listing.

Fifth, welcome again. Hope to hear more from you! :)

I'm assuming you're using Audacity, if not we'll have to seek help elsewhere...

1) Click on the down arrow to the left of the track, just above where it says "Stereo, 44100Hz"

2) Select Split Stereo Track

3) Click on the X of the second (lower) track on the left, just above where it says "Right, 44100Hz". The track will disappear.

4) Again click on the down arrow to the left of your track, just above where it now says "Left, 44100Hz"

5) Select Mono

6) Save your project and re-export the MP3

That should do it! :)

Another way to change mono files to stereo is to use Switch. It's a handy program that will change stereo to mono and also switch file types around... all in handy-dandy batch mode. :)

Hi! Just wanted to let you know, the Compilation info for all stories that have been accepted into this collection has been entered.

I am back on the proper coast and have time again, so I hope to be a bit more present than I was for a while. :)

In a change from sci-fi shorts, here's one for this collection:

The Signalman by Charles Dickens
Audio: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ce/ghohor007_thesignalman_dickens_mka.mp3
Text: http://www.gutenberg.org/dirs/etext98/3ghst10.txt
Size: 28MB
Time: 28m56s

Great story, very enjoyable to read.

Cheers,
Megan

Thanks, Megan. I listened to Naxos Audiobooks' version a while back. Good choice! Can't wait to hear your take on it...

Hi om123! Thanks for your submission. Your tech specs are all fine, and the intro is great. You close with just the title and author, with no "End of..", but if no further errors are found upon a full proof-listen, I think we can get away with that. :)

Thanks,
Catharine
