For the record, I didn't PL the whole thing - only about 20 seconds of it.

Now do you assign blank sections before I record? I never done these type of books before.

Thank you

No assignment. Record away and we'll slip it in the next available slot.

For the record, Poetry and the Gods was published in 1920, and so is in the public domain.

Tricia & Jim

Thanks for the feedback. The amped version sounds good so let's go with that one. I'll just have to keep an eye on the db in the future and not rely entirely on my headphones. lol

Instead of "poetry and the gods" for your next section I chose "Deceiving Shadows" by P'ou Song-lin (written in the public domain)
Text: http://www.horrormasters.com/Text/a2296.pdf
Recording: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/sp/deceiving_shadows_by_pou_songlin.mp3

Thanks, Chris.

I was able to find out that P'ou Song-lin died in 1715, so certainly everything he wrote--in Chinese--is in the public domain. However, we need to make sure the translation you're reading from is PD. I wasn't able to find any copyright information one way or the other on the Horrormasters site (admittedly I didn't look extensively). But if you can find some verification of the source, we'd be happy have it included in the collection.

My head is - temporarily - above water again! (Don't worry, I'll go away again in another week, for another week.)

http://www.horrormasters.com/Themes/Haunted_Houses.htm
P'oh Song-lin's "Deceiving Shadows" is under ~The Essentals~ with a note on the top
Classics (All Free -- No Registration Needed)
no credit for the translator, I think that might be enough for the PD
Again here's the text for PL:

Recording: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/sp/deceiving_shadows_by_pou_songlin.mp3
Thanks Jim

Unfortunately, Horrormasters' registration requirements aren't proof of the copyright status. For all we know, the author (translator) could have given permission for the work to given away, or it could be under a Creative Commons license, et cetera.

I'd suggest e-mailing Horrormasters and asking for the copyright info on the source or a link to the actual source copy so we can be sure.

The terms and agreement says duplicating or redistribution without written consent of Horror Masters is prohibited. So I only sent an email about Librivox and our project. Wish me luck for a reply!

Great!

We've used plenty of their stuff in the past, and I suspect someone there knows who we are. :)
