I think Project Gutenberg was making some changes to their server, and they had some downtime. Thanks for the update, Kani73!

Wow. It's been busy around here, and I must admit, I completely forgot that I committed to another section some time ago. Many apologies. I will actually have some time today, and if I can't stop obsessively doing "retakes" I will have plenty of time to finish on Friday.

I will try to do a very straightforward recording this weeked (minimal editing, that is, minimal retakes). If my attempt is unsuccessful, I'll put my bits back into the pool next Monday so there's time for someone else to rescue them.

I must move in September, and I've begun a demanding and rewarding chunk of freelance work that requires persistent focus. I have looked forward to reading the chapters I claimed so long ago, but I think it is wiser to put them back into the pool for now, and finish a number of partially completed LV recordings before signing up for anything new.

So I will return these precious chapters for others to claim:

I think I am going to have to put my selections back in the pool also. I have not had a chance to get them done and I know that i will not have another chance till next weekend. Sorry.

Hi Kani73 - next weekend would be just fine, if you would still like to do them. As long as I know something is coming soon!

I'd like to claim

28 - Section XII, and Song XII: Orpheus and Eurydice

I'm new at this, so I may ask for help when something inevitably goes wrong.

Well, I've uploaded

28 - Section XII, and Song XII: Orpheus and Eurydice

I'm not altogether happy with it; let me know what you think.

Whatever it's like (and I'm sure it'll be great!), you'll get brownie points for doing it so very quickly! :) My broadband is about dial-up speed right now, so I'll try to download later. Will post again.

d.e.wittkower - it's all good, very nice reading and the sound quality is fine, too! Excellent first recording. Keep going! :)
