Dii, thanks for fixing my recording. "Normalize" sounds like something I might profit from when I split my reading into more than one session. I'll check the Wiki.

Normalizing removes DC offset [if you have] and amplifies in the same time. For the problem you mentioned use the Levelator effect [or something like that, my Audacity is not English  ]

I would like to claim Chapter 12, Hannibal a Fugitive and an Exile. I look forward to submitting my recording.

In the directory, if this makes sense, I would like to be listed as a reader under my full name:

Hello,

I'd like to have a go at chapter 10: the battle of cannae. This will be my first recording, but I like the subject material and would like to give it a try, even though it's not very short. My full name is OK, just the way it is.

Thanks! I'm thrilled to be off and running. Just got my new Samson g-track USB microphone and shockmount in the mail today. Decided to go "all out" since I've been wanting to do this for some time. Time to pay back the community for some great books I've listened to. The microphone is my early Christmas present! ;) Toys for geeky boys!

Hi, John!
Section 10 is all yours. It might be a good idea to post a short sample recording first (1-2 minutes), so that all technical points can be checked and corrected before you start the actual work. But it's wholly up to you.
