Jenny kissed me - also Leigh Hunt ... I culled from the internet, but he lived from 1784-1859

Peter, would you be able to send me your three poems? Your yousendit links have expired and I don't want to pester Hugh if I don't need to. I think I have everyone else's files except for Brad's.

My pleasure .. a bit of a shock seeing yousendit working properly!

I've recorded one of my favourites today: Coleridge's Kublai Khan, but I'll hold it for the next volume, as I'm running out of poems. I really must get to the library for a volume of miscellaneous poetry, to spread my net.

Thanks, Annie, that makes twelve poems. Think we can make it to 20 before the end of December?

It's hard to find poetry on Gutenberg unless you know what author you want, so here's a link to a "one of the largest free collections of verse on the web."

oh, i just had an idea for the short poetry collections... we might consider having themes for these collections... the possiblities are endless, as usual.

Oh that'd be fun. Love poems for Valentine's day, a springtime collection, patriotic for the Glorious Fourth, etc. Great idea!

Talking of masturbation, a subject that seems to have cropped up a couple of times on the forum, how about putting poems of our own writing up for others to read (ones that we are willing to see in the public domain)? (Somewhere in Robert Heinlein's "Time enough for Love" is the aphorism: "People who read their own poetry aloud in public may have other unpleasant vices" ... so no reading your own!)

... or, perhaps a volume specifically composed of home-written poems .... and short stories?
