I was so excited to finish recording the first chapter of this book today and while i was editing, it crashed and I had to close audacity. Well...all the 2 hours of work I put into this chapter was lost. Audacity will not open the file and an error message: "Error unclosed token at line 400" appears when I attempt to open the file.

so i will try again. I think I will save it to mp3 right away and save a backup file of the original before I edit it. I can still edit an mp3 file on audacity. (i think).

i am recording chapter 1 right now. reading in sections because it's way too long to read in one sweep. problem is how to equalize so my timbre and tone remains consistent even if I record over a period of time instead of in one sitting. is there such a function?

Sorry you have been sick and now are having uploader problems
Re the uploader -it doesn't tend to give error messages so things need to be right

Have you selected a folder ? use arb-annise

Are you uploading a .mp3 file ?

Is your file too big ?

are the things that come to mind - if these do not fix things post again

file size is 54MB and max according to guidelines is up to 100MB. i did select you as MC and the file is mp3 format. I will try again tonight. thanks!

Great Wina - just to stop this sort of thing slipping through could you post how long the recoding is something like 23:34 mins or what it is - then I know it is all there when I move it to the catalogue

Chapter 1: great reading! Only the recording is a little too quiet and the end silence should be 10 secs!

Can't wait to find out how the story goes on!!!

Thank you for proof listening!! I will amplify and add the 10 secs to the end. I'm sorry I haven't responded as quickly as I should. I've been away on vacation and have had to deal with health problems. I have rheumatoid arthritis and my fingers and arms have been extremely painful so it's hard for me to record and use my fingers to edit. I will try my best to finish this though. thanks again!
