This project can now be downloaded from our catalogue: http://librivox.org/tom-sawyer-by-mark-twain/

I would like to solo on Tom Sawyer.
Is anyone set up to manage the project with me? :)

Absolutely, since it was my suggestion! :) I'll be your MC. You're in the "To Come" section of the catalogue now. - Let me know if you need anything.

E-text can be found here: http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/74 and the html version is of a lovely, illustrated edition.

Do you have a target completion date, John?

well...I'll give it a quick look through this AM and get back to you soon. I usually try to do 2-3 chapters a day, if possible.

well...that didn't take long!
I'm going to "guess" that it will be about 2 1/2 weeks, since there are 35 chapters.
Hope that's OK....

*weeks*?? Wow. You're a mega fast reader! That'll be great. Can't wait to hear this - I enjoyed it a lot as a child, in the German translation of course! :)

Do you have a good ID3/file naming scheme set up? Are you doing several chapters in one file?

thistlechick gave me the following for my first I've adapted it:

Title = The Adventures of Tom Sawyer - Chapter 01
Artist = Mark twain
Album = The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
Comments = Recorded for Librivox by John Greenman
Genre = Speech

filename:
tsawyer_##_twain.mp3 ( where ## is ths chapter number)

and then at the end of the last chapter, I would say, "End of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer".

please let me know if this is OK or if you need something more or different.

No, that's perfect - thank you. I like making sure it's all clear before readers start, because these tags can be a bit of a pain to change, and why cause extra work?

Fantastic. Thanks, John. Broadband's still down here, but as the files are on my server already, all's well! :) Well done for doing two more chapters so quickly.

Gesine,
I have to make a small edit in Chapter 2 but I'm unable to import or open my mp3 file of chapter 2 in Garageband, where I need to make the edit.
Is there some way to convert the mp3 version back to a useable format...or some other way to get the file back into Garageband??
From now on I will save my Garageband files until the project is finished.
Meanwhile I will record 5 and 6 tonight.
