Thanks for Chapter 14 and 15, rowalrus. Could you add the file duration for Chapter 12 and 13 for me to the Magic Window, please? It helps out at catalog time to have them all there. :D

I know time can get away from us at times. so no worries. If it looks like you're not going to be able to record during a month, a quick note in the thread at least once a month is appreciated, but you have no worries. I hope you are enjoying your project. :D

Hi Madame Tusk,

I checked out Chapter 5, and I couldn't find a repeat, so maybe you already fixed it? I went ahead and marked it PL OK in the Magic Window....

I was checking your other files, and I'm going to need you to re-upload some of them. We need your files to be:

Channels: 1 (Mono)
Bit Rate: 128 kbps
Sample Rate: 44.1 kHz

Somehow your recording software export settings must have gotten changed somehow.
Chapter 12 now is: Bit rate: 43 kbps
Sample Rate: 32 KHz
Chapter 13 now is: Bit rate: 44 kbps
Sample Rate: 32 KHz
Chapter 14 now is: Bit rate: 116 kbps
Sample Rate: 44.1 KHz
Chatper 15 now is: Bit Rate: 116 kbps
Sample Rate: 44.1 KHz

Thanks!

Chapters 16 and 17 are quite quiet. Please make them louder. Other than that, there is no problem with them.

Chapters 18-21 are great, except the fact that you are not reading the standard disclaimer. after you say "as read for librivox by madame task" please add "this recording is in the public domain". I realy hope the last 3 chapters will arrive soon.

rlowalrus,

Just double checking, I was poking about in my uploader folder and noticed the new files for Chapters 16 and 17 were substantially smaller in size than the original ones you uploaded. I just wanted to double check that the files didn't get interrupted mid-upload.

Chapter 16 originally was 12,677,734 and the new one was only 4,620,871
Chapter 17 originally was 17,539,017 and the newer one was only 6,363,343.

Could you double check that the one in the Magic Window is the complete file for me, please? Oh, I think I figured out the difference....the newer files are both exported at only 46kbps and only 32khz. Don't forget, they need to be at 128kbps and 44.1khz.

Thanks!
Mary

Edit: For now I've deleted the second ones you uploaded, so the non-amplified files are still in the Magic Window.

rlowarlrus,

Ooops... Chapter 18, 19, 20, 21 are all also exported at the wrong bit rate and khz. Could you re-export them and re-upload at 128kbps and 44.1khz, please? I'm not trying to be picky, we just need the files that start out with those settings, because Archive.org, where we host our files, then makes our 64kpbs files automatically from the 128 kbps files. Thanks!

Got it. I usually don't think about checking my export bitrate, but I shall re-export them.
Thanks for correcting me!

Chapter 23 might be a little quiet in places. I listened to it in the car on a road trip however, and the road was badly paved so it might be louder than I thought.

Hi Madame Taks,
I really loved the way you read the last 3 chapters. We are quite done now. The correct disclaimer is "Chapter 24 of Persuasion as read for Librivox by Madame Task. This recording is in the public domain. Persuasion, by Jane Austen, chapter 24". This is an example. You should read that disclaimer at the begining of all of the chapters you read for a solo project. Also, I suggest you make chapter 23 louder.
At the end of chapter 24, you should say "end of chapter 24. End of Persuasion by Jane Austen".
Thank you for recording this book. I read it now for the first time.

I wondered about chapter 23. I've amplified it and added the author's name to the end of chapter 24.
Just to clarify something, the only general difference between how I begin my chapters in this book and the example you just gave is the phrase "this recording is in the public domain" I'm not trying to be a pill, but I want to know if you think I should edit all of the chapters and re-upload them. I will make sure to add that statement when next I record.

Hi Madame Task,
I wrote here the standard intro with which you should begin. It has been excepted that in solos you can use the abriviated librivox disclaimer. So the disclaimer is "this recording is in the public domain". That's the only fraze I wanted you to add.

Hi! AmethystA is away on vacation at the moment so I'll respond --

Yes, the standard disclaimer must be included on each file. Actually "as read for Librivox by Madame Task" is not exactly the standard disclaimer. For each section after the first, it should be read as it is written in the template in the first post: "Chapter X of Book. This Librivox recording is in the public domain. Read [or recorded] by Madame Task. Book Name by Author Name. Chapter X: Title of chapter."

And yes, I know it's a pain, but you should edit and reupload your files. Thanks!
Laurie Anne
