Bravo Brian! Now would be a good time to start a proof listening thread if you want to go through that process prior to cataloging.

I posted a proof-listening thread at http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3359 . Did I do that correctly, Annie?

Thank you for listening, Sean! To answer your question, if you find word substitutions that don't really affect the meaning of the sentence, I'd just as soon leave them as they are. If you think they do change the meaning, however, please let me know about them.

If you've already listened to some of the stories, perhaps you can reply to the listening thread to claim those you've already done.

Hi Annie,

The proof-listening and editing for this project is now complete! I believe it's ready for cataloguing.

The only story I wound up editing was Story 12. This resulted in a change in runtime: it is now 42:03.

All the stories are located at http://brianroberg.com/audio/ Please let me know if there's any other information you need.

Thanks for helping me through my first project!

Great Brian, I'll get started on this. If you want to write up a short summary or ask someone else to do it, now is the time!

Annie,

I wrote the following as a summary paragraph:

The Innocence of Father Brown (1911) is the first of five collections of mystery stories by G.K. Chesterton starring an unimposing but surprisingly capable Roman Catholic priest. Father Brown's ability to uncover the truth behind the mystery continually surpasses that of the "experts" around him, who are fooled into underestimation by the priest's unimpressive outward appearance and, often, by their own prejudices about Christianity. Combining captivating stories and insightful commentary, The Innocence of Father Brown is a delightful read.

Hi hi,
I've tried 3 or 4 times to get a stereo version of The Three Tools of Death, but I keep getting only left channel. Do you have a stereo version linked to from anywhere?
The list of links 1 - 10 on your website (as of yesterday) still has the single-channel version.

:D Love these stories. Well read!!!

I double-checked the posted recording of "The Three Tools of Death," and it played correctly for me. Is it possible you're getting a cached copy of the old recording?

Do you mean that recordings 1-10 are playing only on your left channel, too? What about 11?

Just to clarify, none of my recordings are in stereo. They're all in mono. On my computer, mono recordings play the same signal on both speakers. Or am I misunderstanding something about mono/stereo terminology?

Sorry for the confusion.
Only "The Three Tools of Death" plays in only the left channel.
Isn't that the one that someone else commented on? (I should check the thread)

The others play in both channels. Sorry to have said "stereo" -- both channels is what I really meant. :)

I might be getting a cached copy. I'm downloading...
since it plays right for you, there's not a real problem.
I'll figure out how to get the correct recording somehow.

And I guess this is a oops, then: alerting you to a non-problem.
Thanks again for a great bunch of recordings.

Is this number 12 we're discussing? I just checked and the version I uploaded is coming out of both sides just fine.

However, I've run into a glitch with the ID3 tags. Did you enter the title, artist, and album tags, Brian? It looks like either you forgot or maybe used version 1 instead of version 2 tags but I'm having trouble getting the information to show up. I should be able to enter it manually but it's something to watch out for next time.

Also, how do you want your name/URL listed in the catalog?
