Hi Martin and thank you. I've changed your filename (please follow this scheme for the other recordings), new URL: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ge/joyceincontext01_44_danteparadiso.mp3

It would be better if the translator were credited. Why don't you wait until the section has been PL'd in case there are other fixes - then you can edit it in, if you don't mind.

Just to make sure I haven't missed anything - you did section 44 before section 43, right?

Gesine

Yes, that's right. I had limited time so I thought I'd do the less challenging (English) first.

Thanks for the guidance.

Martin

I must say, I've been intimidated at the thought of reading this. Once I sat down to do it, however, it turned out to be easy! Here is section 52:

Yes, Joyce reads well aloud! Glad you liked it. - Edited your filename because Telemachus had a capital T - need it all smallcaps, otherwise it won't sort properly... :) Thanks!

Oh, just saw this project and realized I had forgotten to edit myself back in -- I'll go ahead and do that now. :D

Hi Gesine

Uploading Sections 10 & 11 -
http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ge/joyceincontext01_10_romanbreviarychrysostomos.mp3
Duration: 18 mins 13 secs
http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ge/joyceincontext_11_romanbreviarypopegregory.mp3
Duration: 22 mins 09 secs

An e-mail follows giving notes for PL, re my approach to the texts.

Please may I claim Section 18, the brief Nietzsche extract?

Martin

No problem, Martin! I'll be taking over from Gesine as MC at this point; if there's anything else I can help you with let me know!

Thanks so much for providing the Nietzsche for me...it's an intense but exciting read. :D

Hi

For PL - In Sections 10 & 11, I have taken Gesine's advice and read the English text only, omitting headings. I have not opened the links to the parts of the Ordinary service (Magnificat, Benedictus...).

I have included the service names (Lauds, Matins...).

One important point - The First Nocturn consists of prayers/readings which have to be selected, depending on the status of the person being celebrated - Doctor of the Church, etc. These are found via the link under the heading First Nocturn. On the advice of a Catholic friend I have selected the parts correctly for Chrysostom and Pope Gregory.

Incidentally, the Magic Window gives the Pope of Section 11 as Gregory Twelfth, whereas the breviary extract is for Gregory Seventh and I have of course read 'Seventh'.

Excuse this long verbiage.

Best wishes
Martin

Hi again

Here's Section 18 (Nietzsche) -

http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ct/joyceincontext01_18_nietzscheantichrist.mp3

Duration: 03 mins 09 secs

Really enjoyed doing it, with my copy of N's death-mask on my bedroom wall opposite me.

May I please take Section 16 (Xenophon)?

Martin

Hi Martin - sorry, can't find these files in my folder. Don't know what happened - maybe I did something when I moved the other files over to Caet's folder... would you mind re-uploading, to the ct - Caeristhiona MC folder?

Caet - I've moved the four files received in your absence over to your MC folder. Changed the MW, and changed upload instructions in first post to show your folder again. I thought it'd be easier to have them all in the same place so you can see what's there. BTW there are two files for 21 - one with the 01 missing from joyceincontext.

Hi Gesine/Caet

I've re-uploaded as requested -

http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ct/joyceincontext01_10_romanbreviarychrysostomos.mp3
18 mins 13 secs

http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ct/joyceincontext01_11_romanbreviarypopegregory.mp3
22 mins 09 secs

The Nietzsche file (Section 18) I have uploaded to 'ct', so I presume that's OK.

Best wishes
Martin

Hi Caet

After doing the Nietzsche, I later ploughed through the Xenophon (Section 16), without remembering to check the thread for your consent to my request  - hope you don't mind.

So here it is:
