PL 15 Ok - and made me think we should make a project out of this, the second great book of Darwin in which he explains how natural selection applies to humans.

Ah, good! I was a bit worried about all those bees buzzing about somewhere.

Thanks for the concern & watchful eye, Ruth! But yes, it got moved to Vol 009, when that needed one more contribution due to some technical issues on another contribution I believe.
Thank you Illit!
Sent a PM about this to the reader (randr) today.Illiterati wrote:PL 14 - this file needs to be re-exported - it is very pleasantly read, but completely silent after 05:12.

Why not the "Malay Archipelago" by Wallace? Looks like a fascinating read.Illiterati wrote:PL 15 Ok - and made me think we should make a project out of this, the second great book of Darwin in which he explains how natural selection applies to humans.

Haha!
You don't know this, but I have travelled several islands in Indonesia, criss-crossed the Malaysian peninsula and trekked along Borneo rivers. Morning in a tent in a rainforest is quite something!
This is therefore very interesting for me as well.

It would be timely in view of the fact that Darwin's 200th birthday is this week (Feb 12) and this year is also the 150th anniversary of the publication of his Origin of Species in November 1859. On the other hand, Descent of Man is 277,456 words, which is 151,091 words longer than Origin of Species!Illiterati wrote:PL 15 Ok - and made me think we should make a project out of this, the second great book of Darwin in which he explains how natural selection applies to humans.

I've added both of these on my todo-list - now I just got to get some other obligations out of the way ASAP.knotyouraveragejo wrote: It would be timely in view of the fact that Darwin's 200th birthday is this week (Feb 12) and this year is also the 150th anniversary of the publication of his Origin of Species in November 1859. Descent of Man indeed is quite a piece - but that is why we distribute the workload, isn't it?

Yes, this is the right place. It is on Project Gutenberg at http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/20715 and is about 3,400 words, so would be just right for a short non-fiction collection. This one has just closed, but Vol 11 should be opened up soon.astridlucozader wrote:I am new here and am curious about the possibilty of recording "marriage and love' by emma goldman. published in 1911
