Yeah! But I still have to figure out a way to stay cool and edit those files (if I have to use computer to do the editing)! :(

I have three long recordings waiting to be edited for weeks now.............

The only editing I'm capable of doing now is for very short files.....

Don't you have air conditioners there? At least the noise wouldn't be a problem.

Yeah! I have AC in the study, but it is really noisy, sometimes I just can't stand the noise (it gives me headache) because it was less than 1 meter above my head!!

And I can't move my computer to another position because I can't move all the heavy bookcases around (the room is packed....).

I can't just dump the AC because it is quite new and works just fine. I hate the LG AC, and I'll not buy another LG machine next time! My friend got a larger LG air-conditioner because the retailer highly recommended it about the same time I got mine. (We both asked for a quiet model but.....) Her LG AC makes such noises that she can't sleep well with the AC on.

The other two brands that I got for my other rooms are quiet and work wonderfully.

Edit: The above are only excuses though. :) What really concerned me was the electricity bills (I can't give up the computer and internet usage of the electricity!) and a little bit of "green thought". The price is up now (7.5%), and will be much higher in the future (household electricity price will be up on average for another 25.2% in October, and it won't be the last price adjustment to be sure).

And I'm just trying to live without AC and I only use AC if it is absolutely necessary, e.g. when it got too warm and humid for a good night's sleep, or when my mother visited me.

Retailer that installed my AC (in my bedroom) many many years ago still waits for my call to get a new one (he told me that AC can only last for so and so years....), but since it was used so sparingly, it is still "new".

Heh. My only suggestion would be to rub something with mint extract in it, like Qing Liang You. It helps, as long as you don't mind the smell...

Thanks! Jc.

I use baby powder with mint extract in it (we call it 痱子粉, it prevents babies and young children to have sweat rash) and it helps. The only problem is it makes me smell like babies or young children.

Hi.

I'll grab Section 01 (Chapter 1), if it hasn't been claimed.

I've read the thread so far and am uncertain as to whether or not the footnotes will be read. Please advise.

If they aren't read, fine. If they are read, I'd vote to read them inline with the chapter material (vis-a-vis, reading them all at the end) and prefixing/suffixing each footnote with something like, "Footnote 4: Yadda yadda...yadda. End of Footnote 4."

Thanks! (You can list me as "jude kaider" [lowercase] in the final "credits.")

jude
