Let me know what you think of the volume, any background noise, etc that may need to be fixed, I'd be happy to touch it up some more if need be. Sorry the file's so big, I'm still figuring out how to save as just 128 kbs!
I have to admit, I got quite a kick out of listening to your recordings :-)

The 128 kbps thing is for MP3s only. Your files are WAVs. You'll need to download and install LAME to get Audacity to export as MP3. That's not an issue for this project, but for other projects you'll have to export as MP3s.

Here is my test file. I am new to the workings of this site, so while I've read some of the Starter guides, any further advice would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know what, if anything, I need to change.

PS I know that the test is not an audition, I just thought it'd be fun to record a monologue.
The technical bits all look and sound okay. It's a bit on the quiet side, though not too bad. But judging by the loud parts, I'm guessing you're not using a very expensive microphone. That can make it hard to keep a level volume, so I understand the balancing act.

Hi there.

Can I take Stephano please.
I'm going away for two weeks on Monday, but it should all be done within a month if that's ok.

Thank you

You got it!

If you've not recorded for LibriVox before, can I get you to give me a test recording so I can verify all the technical bits? If you have recorded, then don't worry about it.

And the timeline sounds just fine.

Thanks, Plains. I am indeed operating off of the built-in microphone of my Macbook Pro right now (rather skint currently) but I'll try and work the balancing act to yield a bit more volume. Reading time.

Here is Act 5, Prospero (duration 10:54)

Assuming that this and the previous files are all OK, that completes Prospero.

Not sure if you have an editor already, but in case you do not, I would love to mix down and edit the acts together, or PL, or DPL, if needed.

Thanks!

If you want to edit this, that would be excellent. 8-) Have at it. If this is the case, I'll see about getting the narration down sooner rather than later. Thanks!

I'm working on 1.1 and 1.2 and they are coming along famously. What file name should I use to upload the final edit?

Thanks,

Wait a minute now. Are you doing the narration? We need someone to read things like "Act 1, Scene 1, On a ship at sea; a tempestuous noise of thunder and lightning heard". To my knowledge, no one has done that yet.
