Mark, the summaries are like the teasers you'd find on the back of books, just a little blurb to tell people a bit about the work and make them interested, but don't spoil anything about the story itself. As these are all classics, you should also reveal some of the story's history, how people know it and remember it, and what makes it so special.
They should be short. Around 100 words.
Examples? I wrote the summaries for Grimms' Fairy Tales and Heart of Darkness that you find in the Catalogue.

Just a little blurb to let folks know what the book is about and get them interested. You can just post it here as Kara said. Or if you'd rather not write it, we can snag one from wikipedia or ask someone else to write one for you.
Also, do you want me to put your files up to be proof listened?

Annie,
I sent you a file via YouSendIt.com. Let me know if it's appropriate.
By all means, post away!

I'd like to congratulate Kaffen for his recording of Chapter 12, which he kindly sent me the link for the other day! His reading is very clean, and quite expressive. And no, I don't think he 'misused' any compositions of mine. (And the thing's public domain anyway, so he can use it any way he likes!)
Great recording! Keep up the good work!

Mark - you don't need to do anything, just thought I'd let you know in case you want to watch the progress!
