How can I not sign up, when tomorrow is Halloween and my second-grader has chosen to dress up as a vampire? :)

I'll grab Chapter 2 so I can exercise my best Count Dracula... >:)=

I'll do chapter 1, if you like, but if you as Team Leader wish to do chapter 1, I'll take 3 or anything else you wish to assign :)

May I suggest saving the files in this format:

dracula_01_stoker.mp3
dracula_25_stoker.mp3

so that they will be properly alphabetized? (yes, i realize i am obsessed with this detail, but it really does help to do it this way)

You're absolutely right, Kara. I've changed my original message in keeping with your suggestion. Both file names and track/title names are affected. Thanks!

As far as who gets what, I'm happy to throw the whole thing open. If there are any leftovers, I'll take them myself. I got to do the best chapter in Frankenstein, and I've hogged David Copperfield, so I'm happy.

I've been thinking about the target date for Dracula and finally settled on January 31st. Is anyone uncomfortable with that date?

Also have added Squiddhartha, Gord, Kara, and Alex to the list.

Dracula going begging? Perhaps if I promise to provide a wooden stake for each volunteer we'll get more takers. Or some garlic.

Hey, how are you guys going to read the dates in Jonathan Harker's journal?

They're printed "3 May" but I think it sounds a little funny to say "three May." Should we say "3rd May" or "3rd of May?"

Also, when he writes (Mem. get recipe for Mina.) should I say memorandum instead of mem?

Opinions?

I'm hoping to record this chapter tonight...

Hi,

I'm brand new at this, but I'll jump in with chapter 7. I suspect I'll have a few questions about the ship's log portions.

Hi Caroline, welcome to librivox!

I went ahead and recorded last night, and said "3rd of May" and "memorandum". So sue me :)

What a great book! I hadn't read it in a few years and I had forgotton what a wonderful writer Stoker is.

Hi everyone,

I'm another newbie, but I thought I'd jump in on this one. Put me down for chapter 10.

I think you did the perfect thing, Kara. Whatever makes it most understandable for the listener.
