If you feel like it, you could record it twice and then combine the tracks (or something like that) so as to make it sound like there are more Bauern people talking/singing. I think it would be a nice effect.
I'll advertise for a german speaking dpl who'll help us both
I recorded it twice and combined them as you suggested. Then on the same recording I have also included just a single voice version in case the combination isn't really working well.
I hope the German is acceptable - the sung Wagner version I found on Youtube is so fast that I really was not able to learn as much from it as I hoped. I'll be glad to get any correction hints anyone wants to offer and try it again! Lovely little poem/song - t'would be a pleasure to get it right!

Thanks, Todd
So I finally had some time for lstening to it. So the combined records are a great idea, but it's really hard to understand for me.
I've some pronunciation notes (i note the times from the single-voice track):
~2:20: Da stieß er an ein
Mädchen an. (should be sth like maid + chop (-op) + en
~2:46: und alle
Röcke flogen
~2:50: und
ruhten atmend
~3:13: schall es
weit (sounds like weed, should be why + hard t)
Here are some examples for the pronounciation, they have this small speaker icon next to the words or phrases. I like this resource very much (because my english pronounciation sucks from time to time
)

But basically it's a wonderful recording, and great german.
so long,
