done!

all recorded and transmitted!!!!!

I had inadvertently omitted the last page of chapter 24 in the scanned files...and I couldn't replace the one I had sent, so I'm sending another "chapter 24" called "mt24A".
Could you please erase the mt24 you already have or take the page 10 (mt24-10.tif) from the new one (mt24A) and add it to mt24?

thanks!
It'll be great to have them up!

How long does the process of putting the scanned pages through the character recognition program take, and who does that??

I'm in the process of double checking the order of the files (i had to rename them and am afraid that I might have gotten them out of order *blushes*) here: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1728

I've just received access to the Project Gutenberg's Distributed Proofreaders ( http://pgdp.net ) OCR pool and will upload the images after we've finished double checking... the process of getting an etext available at Project Gutenberg can take several months, so that means that your recording will be available long before the actual text will be available!

John, Do you happen to still have the originals on hand?

Looks like page 8 (p. 328) of chapter 1 accidentally got replaced with page 9 ... (that's probably my fault, and I apologize very sincerely).

If you still have the originals, would you please rescan and upload p. 328 of chapater 1?

not your fault AT ALL!!!!
mea culpa!!!
VERY sorry...I went back and checked my original scan files (jpegs!!!) and page 8 and 9 are the same!!
I will go to the bangor library right now and get those pages and send them to you ASAP.

very sorry!
(this is probably not the last time you'll find errors or the need for new scans for some reason or other...)

you now have p. 328 (mt1-8.tif)
not sure HOW I managed to send you two page 329's since I printed out both for my reading and labelled them "mt8" and "mt9"

will remain a mystery forever!!

John, we're down to the last few details for cataloging your recordings...

How would you like your name to appear on the Librivox catalog page?

Do you have a url you would like associated with your name?

Would you like to write a brief summary or review of this work to be included in the catalog page?

-I think: "John Greenman" is fine. There doesn't need to be an address, does there?

-Yes...I'd like to do that...I'll send something to you in a few hours or less!

how's this??

Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) began writing his autobiogrpahy long before the 1906 publications of these "Chapters from my Autobiography". He originally planned to have his memoirs published only after his death but realized, once he'd passed his 70th year, that a lot of the material might be OK to publish before his departure. These chapters were published in serial form in the North American Review during 1906-1907.
While much of the material consists of stories about the people, places and incidents of his long life, there're also several sections from his daughter, which he calls "Susy's biography of me".
