Annise - sorry I haven't been on much, I've been home about 8 hrs out of every 24 recently. You've got DPL access now. Thank you so much!

I would like to volunteer to read chapter 4. I discovered Librivox the other day, and am enjoying your Frankenstein, and want to be a part of it! My daughter is in a Montessori school, so I have always wanted to read more of her work. Thanks for starting the project!

I just looked at chapter 4, in the hopes I will read it, and I noticed that Montessori includes samples of the forms she used, and refers to them directly in the text:
There is also a footnote that expands on one idea. In commercial audio recordings I have heard footnotes read where they occur in the text, following a brief pause and the intro: "footnote." Another brief pause would follow the footnote. What do you think?
They can be described, they can be omitted, or they can be read text only, which in some cases would give a partial representation. What is the standard? I'm new here.have designed and had printed biological charts, of which I here give an example.

Welcome to LibriVox. glad that you're enjoying Frankenstein, even more glad that you've decided to read to. I'll sign you up soon. What name would you like to appear as in the catalog? and do you have a URL that you would like associated with you?
For footnotes that is a great way to go about it. In general that method is what I prefer.
I think what would work best here is too have you read the text contained in the charts from upper left to lower right with appropriate pauses for blanks and cell divisions. I will later add the graphics files to archive.org catalog page. This should make it so that listeners can understand without the charts but have ready access to them if they desire.
If you are reading or have read a chapter that has charts or other graphics please post here and let me know so that I can do the same for them.
Thanks

Sorry this took so long

You picked a really hard chapter - all those rare words and charts - the charts came over well I thought. A great read .
There were 2 small hiccups
1:16 stutter - pas..passively
16:50 a repeated phrase "Where ever possible ........brush etc"
Sound was good, voice was good , please do some more reading for LV

Thanks for the enthusiasm, and sorry about the filename mix-up. Sorry, too, I've been away from the board for awhile. Job searching and sick little girl. So what normally happens now? Does the reader fix those glitches and repost the file? Sure can, it won't take much.annise wrote:There were 2 small hiccups

Brian - Either you can fix it or - since nothing needs to be re-recorded - someone else can. It is generally preferred that you do but if your RL is just really busy right now, or your the type of person that just plain doesn't want to edit, you can ask someone else to. As Anne said, if you fix it just leave a message here saying you've done so.
