Hello, I'm in the process if uploading a recording of "Marjorie Daw" by Thomas Aldrich. Apparently it caused quite a sensation when it was first published. Enjoy!

Here's a go at Saki's "The Toys of Peace", from Project Gutenberg. Running time is a brisk 11:31, and my name is Tae Jensen.

Actually, the recording quality here suffers from a fair number of flaws, namely that there are annoying popping noises throughout (I have not quite got the hang of my recording setup on this computer), and I read it all rather faster than is proper . . . but it is a short short story, and I may have another go at it soon enough.

Tae, your recording sounds great... no worries about your sound quality... you have a nice voice to hear as well. =)

Hello Thistlechick! If not already done, I would like to try doing Oscar Wilde's "The Birthday of the Infanta." Has it been done? Where can I find a complete list of short stories already in the librivox library?

Thank you!

Welcome Rana!

The Librivox Catalog page http://librivox.org/librivox-catalogue/ has a list of the short works completed so far... and I'm still working on cataloging the first Short Story collection... As far as I know "Birthday of the Infanta" has not yet been recorded for Librivox. The text appears in this collection on Project Gutenberg: http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/873

I look forward to hearing your recording. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask us here =) Enjoy your reading!

Hello,

I'm new to LibriVox, but I'd like to get started! If a story is listed under "pending," that means it's been suggested but not yet recorded, right? In that case, I'd like to try recording "Young Goodman Brown." I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes! Thanks!

Hi Brian and welcome! Actually "pending" means that someone else has already said they are going to record this, it just isn't finished yet. I don't think we have a list of short story suggestions but Betsie (thistlechick), who is in charge of short stories, may have some ideas for you.

Welcome oiketohn!

Yes, "pending" means that someone has said they would do it... but have not yet submitted it... (I'm starting to think they may have forgotten even)

However, don't let that stop you.... we love having multiple versions of stories... I try not to include the same story twice in a single collection, so, it's generally first come first included ...

As for suggestions, I could probably come up with a pretty hefty list of suggestions if you need them ;) but here is a post that I wrote in the previous story collection that can provide suggestions as well http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=5424#5424

I'll put that link in the inital post as well. =)

I just found about the LibriVox project recently and I am anxious to volunteer!

As the protocol is to begin with something short, I'd like to volunteer for the following, if no one else is doing it:

"The Signal-Man" by Charles Dickens.

Is this acceptable?

I've recorded "Young Goodman Brown." I welcome anyone's comments and suggestions, especially as this is my first LibriVox recording.
