Cloud - I'll be setting up a Google doc before the start.

Betsie - wonderful; I'd so hoped you'd join again this year. I'll proof-read ch 4.

I'll take chapter 03.

Just to throw a monkey wrench into things (at the last possible second), how about "The Yellow Tulip Sheet Murders"?

:)

Gesine is not well so you may hear from here when she feel better.

Oh no, poor Gesine! I wondered - she's usually around.

I love this idea and want to pitch in and do some of the writing but I am cloudy on a few points....

* is this a preplanned thing or when my day comes can i read what has come before and go with it as the muse strikes?

* no magic, aliens, sf, fantasy and present day? I can live with that:)-

* Do we record our own parts as well?

* min and max word counts?

* Styles..are we heading to the possibility of something like JJ's Odesyus or are we locking into a style guide?

Thanks for answer these probably already answered questions. I still am wearing my N3wb badge here.

as far as i know (at least this is what I signed up for):
* is this a preplanned thing or when my day comes can i read what has come before and go with it as the muse strikes?
there seems to be preplanning, but it's not necessary that you abide by it. i doubt if i will be ... the fun of it (for me) is having no idea what's going on and trying to figure it out.
* no magic, aliens, sf, fantasy and present day? I can live with that:)-
EDITED by Hugh: these will throw money wrenches into the story... so as a guideline, try to stay "consistent" with what's come before.
* Do we record our own parts as well?
ideally, yes.
* min and max word counts?
targets. i think we are aiming for 50k words, so about 1,700 words per day/chapter.
* Styles..are we heading to the possibility of something like JJ's Odesyus or are we locking into a style guide?
whatever feels good.

Other people might have different opinions, but that's how i'm playing it.

Sorry to have been away; was ill and still am a little so won't be around too much. Thanks for everyone who helped answering/signing up.

I've sent PMs to everyone who has signed up as writer or proof-reader so far, asking for their email addresses so I can add them to the Google doc.

I've put the link for the Google doc with the final chapters in the first post: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dt724vw_58cd96b6

Yay Alan! Have fun.

Let's leave it at The Yellow Sheet now, shall we? But re murders - you may not be familiar with a couple of meanings: http://www.answers.com/topic/yellow-sheet

Some good possibilities there, I think. :)

Not especially. I'm up for anything. I was just trying something else to bypass the Blue Tulip/Yellow Sheet (and related business names) discussion. Since Gesine pointed out one of the slang names for "yellow sheet", however, crime/murder/mystery all have possibilities.

Anyway, I'll try not to have too many dancing hippos in my chapters.
