Good morning SnowOwl - Story 5 is PL OK, thanks for the reading.

As a note:
There are a few places in the story where your voice reaches the maximum Audacity can record (a.k.a. CLIPPING). Clipping can give the recording a harsh distortion, though if your voice reaches clipping only for a brief instant it often won't sound all that bad. The most distinct example of clipping in this chapter is near 7:37 - the word 'must' where the fairy/nightingale says "We must get the ring or the stone."

Audacity has a couple tools that will show you when this is happening.
#1 - the playback meter shows a line at the loudest volume in a chunk you've just played, so if you see a red line at zero on the scale you know the audio reached the digital maximum somewhere in that chunk.
#2 - There is a Show clipping (on/off) toggle under the View menu. If that is on you'll see a bright red mark in the waveform display at any point where the signal reaches digital zero.
Once you are aware clipping is happening you can take preventative action - say turning the record volume down a tiny bit.
In this story there were only 4 teeny-tiny spots with clipping, and they didn't sound bad - so no worries.
