Thank you all...
Here's the fixed section 00 https://librivox.org/uploads/craigdav1/rossini_00_bevan_128.mp3 Duration: 03:09
I think that the background noise is the lowest I can get it. I used the Audacity stuff...
I have all but one section recorded, I just haven't had the time to edit them

Hi
Not quite sure what you did to this file but there is still some background noise although the overall volume has been reduced to 87db. When I run Audacity noise cleaning on your original file it removes the background noise entirely. Would you like me to clean the new file and re-upload it.
I could also correct the filename which is now missing the letters kb at the end. The text is now correct.
If it helps here are basic procedures for noise cleaning:
- Load file into Audacity
- Highlight a short section of the file which has no speech (the last 5 seconds are the best bit)
- Click-on Effect > Noise Reduction > Get Noise Profile
- Highlight the whole file (Ctrl A)
- Click-on Effect > Noise Reduction > OK
- Save and re-export the file
Hope this helps
Cheers
Ok, that makes sense now about how to do it.
That would be great if you would be willing to fix Section 00, but I'll be sure to do the others.
Thanks so much,
Mozartjr
Overall volume is 85.7db, outside our required range of 87-91db. Please amplify the whole file by 3 db.
End silence is 4.5 secs, it needs to be 5-5.5 secs.
At 1.39 Repeat of Anna
At 2.25 Repeat of No longer hornplayer
At 10.15 Repeat of Whatever may
At 11.26 There is aloud click on To avoid
Otherwise Good Reading

Hi Alan,
Section 01 is re-uploaded and ready for spot PL!
Section 02 is also ready for PL: https://librivox.org/uploads/craigdav1/rossini_02_bevan_128kb_.mp3 Duration: 18:44
I think that this is my favorite chapter of the book; it goes through the first performance of the Barber of Seville
Thanks,
Mozartjr

Hi
PL notes for section 2.
The filename has an extra underline character after the letters kb This needs to be removed before cataloguing.
(Section 3 has the same error)
The text is OK
Please reupload with the corrected filename.
Alan,
I re-uploaded section 2 with the filename corrected, and I was uploading section 3 with the corrected filename when this came up:
rossini_03_bevan_128kb.mp3 22.75 MB Error SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0
Have any idea what this means?
Optional: I notice that you read the symbol £ as euros. As Bevan was British I think he would have meant pounds. Your choice if you bother to change this, it isn't crucial.
Otherwise OK!
