You filled out the template as if you want to start this project, but you posted it in Book Suggestions.

Is this a suggestion or a newly launched project?

P.S. This link would be the better one: https://www.loc.gov/item/15000254/ so as not to force a download of the PDF. It looks like it can be viewed as html, too. :)

Thank you so much. How can I swap the source link with your suggestion? Or will the MC make that change?

You can edit your first post to make it change there. The MC will have to change it in the database (the data that pulls up when the admin sets up the project).

Aw heck - I'll MC it for you and just take care of it myself. BRB with the MW!

OK, you're all set.

You haven't BC'd before, but it looks like you've DPL'd, so you should have an idea how to manage the MW.

Do please put the run time in the Notes field. I use them at cataloging time to be sure the files are the right ones.

Holler if you have questions. :)

Take 1! Here we go.

https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/sugar_plums_01_pratt_128kb.mp3

So, first thing, I'm still trying to learn macros so for now doing it the manual way.

This time I was able to employ 'clip fix' and eliminated the 'clipping' but will look to you to grade my effort. Next, I reviewed your list of effects and was able to apply 'compression' but am already using ReplayGain. Are 'de-clip' and 'clip fix' the same effect? If not I'll need to do more homework.

I put the recording through Checker and got a 'pass'.

I hope to iron out all the editing with this recording so the rest will go faster and be of better quality.

Again, take your time and Thank you.

My input, just from what you say in your post:

You shouldn't be clipping such that you need to fix it. Better to turn down your input volume slightly, then employ any compression, amplification, etc. in order to get the volume up.

I think ReplayGain can cause clipping - it doesn't prevent it. For that reason I think it's better not to use it.

I assume Sara will have some other thoughts for you. :)

When entering your section in the Magic Window, change the status in the last column to "Ready for PL". This will put the section into the PL's task list, if they look at that regularly. :)

I did forget to update the Status. Done and Thank you.
For sure taking notes. Yes I'll wait for Sara's input as well. I was ready for this recording to have a steep learning curve :D
