The Reformation Collection Volume 2, by Various

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-reformation-collection-volume-2-by-various/
This volume of the Reformation collection, which has a particualr focus on the English Reformation, begins with William Tyndale's lively tract on the key Reformation doctrine of Justification by faith alone. Then follow two historical accounts of the reception that Reformation ideas received. Martin Luther works line by line through the popular Marian hymn Salve Regina expressing his disagreement. Christ the End of the Law is John Calvin's summary of the gospel message, written as the preface to the Geneva Bible. Calvin's Admonition against Astrology was translated into Early Modern English and has lain relatively forgotten for many years. There follow a number of documents authorised by Henry VIII and Edward VI of England showing the progress and regression of the Reformation in their reigns, including an essay against the claims of the Pope, written by Edward VI at age 12. Next come two letters relating to the English Reformation: Thomas Cromwell commenting on the reception of Tyndale's ideas by Henry VIII and Peter Martyr Vermigli writing to Heinrich Bullinger from England during the writing of the prayer book, expressing sadness that Calvin's doctrine of the sacraments had not found universal acceptance. Then come a series of short pieces by the 'Oxford Martyrs' - Thomas Cranmer, Hugh Latimer and Nicholas Ridley - carrying out the business of reforming the church. John Bradford's Preface to Melanchthon's book on prayer is "of interest, in showing the feeling entertained in England, by the faithful worshippers, during the brief period between the decease of Edward VI. and the imprisonment of the godly Protestant Bishops and other Clergy." This volume of the Reformation collection ends with an eyewitness account of the final days of Martin Luther.

Sorry to the poor soul who has to check the copyrights on these. I've checked them myself but I guess someone has to make sure. I'll decide on the last 3 items later.
I've edited the diclaimer and filename to match the last time I made this collection. I'm confident filling out the MW for a collection. I'm also optimistic that a kind MC might be able to rename the files to follow the (future) MW order once I've recorded all the short pieces and have determined a logical order for them.

Historical personages that will be extracted from history and re-filed into the LV catalogue for the first time through this collection:
Female Scripture Characters by William Jay (1769 - 1853) 97% 1 left! "The Penitent Sinner Part 2"
St. Augustine (Vol.6 Psalms 126-150) 94% 3 left!

It's a little bit more MCing than usual, but I'm sure I'll be glad to have set this up for you. :) Be right back with the MW.

Update: the MW is up. I'll do the copyright check and create new author pages in the next day or two.

Thanks Michael! I've filled in the MW to the extent that I can before those authors are added to the catalogue. I won't add anything further to this collection. To save you a headache, I've ordered them already which means I'll rename the files myself to use a numeric ordering. Most are already recorded so this should be over in a flash.

The sources look good. I'm glad to see so many 16th century English texts. They're a challenge to read in their original orthography, but much easier to understand by ear. I'll add the new authors later today.

Librivox has taught me the obscure skill of rapidly deciphering by sight Early Modern English. That said, Cromwell's letter was the hardest thing I have read for Librivox and unlikely to be surpassed.

Could you also add:
Peter Martyr Vermigli (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Martyr_Vermigli)
Justus Jonas (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justus_Jonas)

The latter is for the final section. Peter Martyr is for section 15 which I added that may need checking (it's google books but 1850).

All the new authors have been added to the catalog. The source for section 15 looks good.
