Cartea de aur, by Alexandru Macedonski (1854 - 1920)

This project is complete and all audio files can be found in the catalogue: https://librivox.org/cartea-de-aur-by-alexandru-macedonski/
(Summary by Gabriela Oprea)
"Cartea de aur" de Alexandru Macedonski este o colecție de texte scurte plasate în a doua jumătate a secolului XIX/începutul secolului XX. Povestirile au ca personaje oameni din toate păturile sociale și abordează mai multe teme, de la efemeritatea vieții și a morții, la tema războiului sau la o pledoarie pentru vegetarianism.

Target completion date: 2021-06-15

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Magic Window is in place. To be able to access it, you'll need to set up a password.
Here's all you need to know about the Magic Window: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Soloists:_How_to_update_the_Magic_Window
Start from "Accessing the System – First Time Login" to set up your password. Then, to fill in the magic Window, mainly focus on entering the Section/Chapter titles now, and then, every time you upload, enter the link from the uploader in the the "Listen URL" field, and the file duration in the "Notes" field, also posting in the thread.
It's a lot of information for a fist solo project, so please ask if anything is unclear.

Here's the intro for the Romanian language (I hope it's grammatically correct, but let me know if otherwise):
Inceputul inregistrarii (Intro)
- "Capitol [numar] din [titul cartii]. - Aceasta este o inregistrare LibriVox. Toate inregistrarile LibriVox sunt in domeniul public. Pentru mai multe informatii, sau pentru a deveni voluntar te rog sa vizitezi: librivox PUNCT org"
- Daca vrei, spune: "Inregistrat de [numele tau]"
-Spune: " [Titlu], de [Autor]. [Capitol]"

Sfarsitul inregistrarii
-La sfarsitul sectiunii, spune: " Sfarsitul [Capitol]"

-La sfarsitul cartii, spune (in plus) " Sfarsitul [Titlu] de [Autor]."
For a solo project, you may use the shortened intro for the second and subsequent sections as mentioned in the first post. If you choose to do so, please translate from the English: "Section (or Chapter) # of Cartea de aur, by Alexandru Macedonski. This LibriVox recording is in the public domain." [Optional: "Read by your name."] "Section Title."

We'll also need:
1. a summary/introduction for the book. A short text to accompany the audio on the catalogue page. Something that tells listeners what the book is about, and helps them to choose whether they'd want to listen to it.
2. genre. Please check the available genres from the genre list in the template generator and let me know which one you think fits best.
3. a few keywords that describe the book. These help bring up the project in a search using these particular search terms.

All these 3 could be provided now, or at the end after you've read the book and have a better idea of it.

I'll move us to Going Solo. After you've uploaded a few recordings you can advertise for a Proof-Listener, except if you already have someone in mind.

Hi! I have just posted looking for a proof-listener for your two recordings so far. Are you still working on this project? :)

You're making good progress!
I've tweaked the filenames a bit. The number in the filename is the section number. And I've combined the chapter titles for each section.

How are you adjusting the intro/disclaimer for the combined chapters?

Oh I didn't know I should change the intro, I was just saying "chapter x" at the beginning of each chapter. Should I change that?

That's fine. What are you saying at the beginning of each recording?

I'm saying this, but in Romanian:
"Section (or Chapter) # of Cartea de aur. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information or to volunteer, please visit librivox.org." [Optional: "Read by your name."] "Cartea de aur, by Alexandru Macedonski. Section Title."
It would probably make more sense not to have "chapter x" at the beginning if I'm going to have more chapters in that recording or to replace it with "chapters x, y, z". I just didn't think of it

You can keep Section number in the beginning of the intro, and chapter number in the beginning of chapters. The section number is the first column in the magic window. Then "End of section #" at the end of recordings, I suppose. :)

Rapunzelina,
aubergine27,
If you are still looking for DPL-Standard I can do it. I just don't know Romanian so more precise PL, I cannot do, but technical and vocal clarity i can ;)
