Hey Eliza, normally you're not supposed to correct pronunciations, but please, if you notice any inconsistencies, let me know. Since I missed those two weeks, I worry that I might have pronounced something one way early in the book and then pronounced it differently later. The only one time that inconsistency might be intentional is when I changed characters. I figure Hugh, the cowboys, and the Mexicans might say things differently (although I would never try to accomplish all three accents!).
Chapter 17:
16:44 Juan pronounced without the English H sound at the beginning where it was before by the same character.
17:56 “stabbed in a dozen places” I think you read “a dozen pieces”
Thank you for being picky! Chapters 17-18 are reloaded, and Chapter 19 is also up. We're almost done. I can't wait to see how Henty tells Hugh the truth about his uncle!
You know what has been bothering me for the last few chapters... "You remind me of someone, but I can't place who." Like, how many guys with English accents has the Doctor met out West? Wouldn't he think maybe he's being reminded of the (probably) only other English friend he's had??

You nailed it. I guess young-adult literature isn't supposed to be subtle.
