Chapter 1:
26:15 - "But he had not so much..." There's a crinkling sound in this sentence
I cannot compare your previous recordings to this one; I haven't listened to them. But there's a lot of background noise in the vocals themselves but not in the silences. I'm wondering if there's some way to clean that up, or maybe to do a different method of noise reduction to make the effect less noticeable. What software are you using? Could you upload a raw sample (about 15 seconds of recording without any effects used on it)?
Chapter 3:
1:11 - Stumble & repeat: "Tired of it? He swirled his s-- ... Tired of it? He twirled his stick"
(Chapters 2-4 were better in the background noise department.)
Do I have to listen to all the recordings 1 & 3 or it`s enough to check the indicated details?
Thanx!

Yes, it really has to be changed, in some way. It`s a pity I have no experience in such things, so can`t give any good advice.

Hi, Alexander:
Glad you started to PL while I was puzzling--please continue. I've uploaded corrected versions of 1 and 3.
Thanks,
Anne
Hi Anne!
Sections 1 & 3 are PL okay - with my great hope that you`ll be able to overcome for the next recordings in some way the white noise accompanying your reading.

Sec 6 PL notes:
00:02 β I hear βchapter 22β β this is Chapter 6
00:14 - I hear βchapter 22β β this is Chapter 6
32:24 - I hear βend of chapter 22β β this is Chapter 6
All the rest seems to be OK. And I happily notice that the white noise is noticeably less than is was in the recordings 1 & 3, though it still remains. I hope you`re on the right path on the cleaning it.
Be happy, Anne!
Sec 05 PL notes:
The volume falls outside of the target range (86β92 dB).
00:02 β I hear βchapter 22β β this is chapter 5
00:15 - I hear βchapter 21β β this is chapter 5
There is no closure at the end.

Ku:l!
Sections 1 & 3 updated in the MW as "Ready for spot PL".
I believe, it has been my fault to do it, for it should be done by a reader itself... I beg pardon!
Sec 08 PL notes:
09:00 β 09:15 β some noise
27:53 β the moment, in which the background noise increases too much, going so till the recording`s end
The rest is all right.

I've uploaded chapters 5 and 6.
Sec 05 PL notes: The volume falls outside of the target range (86β92 dB), being of 85.7 dB now. I advise you to use the Checker 0.96 to check your own files. It`s easy and quick!
The rest is OK.
I've uploaded 9 to 11 and a corrected version of chapter 8.
About chapter 5, Checker said it passed although the volume is low. I looked for mp3gain but it seems like it's old software--I wasn't able to find a working version to upload. Can 5 stand as is? If not, please direct me to another software to make it louder.
Anne,
Before you export the file as an mp3 file you should be able to amplify it (~89dB). If you are using Audacity I can direct you to a link that shows you how to do that. Because the file is so close to 86dB, I can amplify it when I'm cataloging the book. If that's the only issue then its status can be changed to pl ok..
