The Martian, by Georges du Maurier (1834 - 1896)

This project is now complete.  All audio files can be found on our catalog page here:

https://librivox.org/the-martian-by-george-du-maurier/

The Martian, by George du Maurier, is a largely autobiographical novel published in 1898 and the author's third. It describes the life of Barty Josselin as told by his close friend Robert Maurice, starting from their school days in Paris in the 1850s. Written in long descriptive passages with very little dialogue and many digressions, the book had considerably less success in its time than its predecessor, the popular Trilby.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi Rita,

I can MC for you. You seem to be missing the end of the template. I'll add it for you, but be careful next time to copy all the way to the bottom (or use the new Copy button at the top right in the template generator.)

Hello, Rita.

I have just one PL note for the first section. Some words are missing in the intro.
Being the first section, the intro is a bit longer than that for the rest. I have marked the missing bit in bold type
Other than that, everything's fine. :D

Hello, Rita.

Sections 2 and 3 are PL OK.

(I still have a problem with Section 1, though. I still get the 7:14 version when I click on the new link. Out of my depth here, sorry! :help:)
