The B. B. Warfield Collection, Volume 2, by Benjamin B. Warfield (1851 - 1921)

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-b-b-warfield-collection-volume-2-by-benjamin-b-warfield/
Warfield wrote many articles for Bible dictionaries and encyclopedias on diverse subjects and managed to condense dense subjects into the limitations of a short article. This collection contains several articles on the resurrection of Jesus and Warfield's reflections on theological education from his experience as professor of theology and later principal of Princeton Seminary.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Thanks heaps!

You'll be pleased to know that I haven't added anything to the author column and also that I've followed your clever lead on the links to multiple volumes :)

I see you are not saying the section numbers at the start ... I think you should add them. We try to put ourselves in the place of a blind (or otherwise occupied) listener. Section numbers enable that person to know that they are playing the sections in order and not missing anything.

So I'll go back and mark Section 1 as "See PL Notes".

Ah, I see. Is that why one might instead use the filename format with the title in it, to avoiding having to say the section numbers (which could change)? Or would you try to put them in under all circumstances?

You ask such good questions.

So I checked out a collection (Myths and Legends from Around the World, to be exact), and the readers there do not give a section number, just the name of the work and the author.

So let's view this as similar and say no section numbers at the beginning of each section. Then you are free to reorder them as you wish when you are done recording.

And Section 4 is PL OK.

Thanks for the PLing. Would it be your preference if I reuploaded using a different naming scheme?

I've added another one in case you're interested in it and I think it's good article. Warfield is cerrtainly in my top 2 or 3 discoveries from Librivox.

I think what you are doing is fine.

I didn't know this guy, then I listened to these sections, and that prompted me to listen to a podcast about him on Revived Thoughts. Quite a story about how he didn't leave his wife for more than 2 hours at a time and how that led him to stay on the campus of Princeton for 10 years at one point.

I plan to continue listening as I have time, unless/until you get a DPL. You often read faster than I can keep up!

ITD,

On section 5, please check
at 8.11 for a repeat (And ask only ...)
at 16:11 for a repeat (And he here ...) (this is the second instance of the repeated text)

Thanks! Will fix them all at the end.

When you listen to part 2 and discover his fabulous list of PD recommendations, most of which are unrecorded on LV, YOU CAN'T HAVE 'EM THEY'RE MINE... I mean, go ahead! That said, I am very very tempted to record this as a solo since he speaks so highly of it and Lynett already took the big fiction item on my list.

Revived Thoughts looks like a fascinating podcast! Though I've heard that the wife being a permanent invalid story is not quite true in the form that it is often told but I can't remember my source. I think it was here.
