PL OK

I found his description of the Cape Verde islands interesting. It is a dry, desolate place that has been settled over time because of it's strategic location for refueling, etc. We have many immigrants from Cape Verde here in south eastern New England -- more than in Cape Verde itself some say. Just FYI, the "e" on "Verde" is silent, so it rhymes with "verb." The language there is Portuguese rather than Spanish. But, I don't think you need to change anything. And, yeah, the language is hard, but authentic for the time and wasn't fraught with the baggage it now has.

My bad on going with the Spanish pronunciation - I should have looked it up as I did with some of the earlier Portuguese words, It only appears thrice in the book so wouldn't be too difficult to fix. Would you fix it if it were your recording?
