Chapter 13 uploaed - length 31:16

Chapters 12 and 13 are both PL OK, and thanks to Mary Ann's kind assistance I was able to mark them myself.
buckle up on this one - a bit long. Chapter 14 - 44:34

Chapter 14 is PL OK. It seems logical that a chapter entitled Three Years should be a bit longer than the others.
I would like a job like the one he describes that he did for Lord Grey - reading and digesting books and ferreting out historical events from folklore and songs. It does seem rather an interesting and engaging life. I'm glad that Helenora is departing in the next chapter for a while as she is the least interesting part of the story so far! I guess I am terribly old and cynical.
Naomi Brewster
It sounds like an interesting job, but probably over my head. I have often been told that I am cynical too, so I don't see anything wrong with your being cynical if it suits you. Thanks for keeping on with the reading, I am looking forward to hearing the rest of the book.
Chapter 15 and 16 uploaded.

Just a few very minor edits. In Chapter 15 the end silence is about 10-11 seconds, and should be 5. In chapter 16 there is a repeat of "passed" at about 1:33 and the word "than" is missing at about 7:06.
Thanks Zach for picking these up. They have been corrected and ready for spot check.

Thanks for the quick response. Chapters 15 and 16 are PL OK. I accidentally wrote passed instead of passing in my earlier post, my mind must have taken a nap as I was typing.
found a couple of docs on youtube which might interest you if you are interested in the history we're reading here.
This one is mostly covering hone heke who proceeded this period by about 10-15 years but talks about Lord Grey and Selwyn.

This one is more directly talking about the period this book covers. We learnt some of this at school but all from the Pakeha point of view really. So glad that the Maori story is being told now. I find myself feeling deeply sympathetic to Te Huata and Rangiora.

Chapter 17 is PL OK. Thanks for the links, they sound interesting and I will check them out when I get caught up with things. I don't know anything about the history in this book, but the difficulties caused for the native people by the colonizers seem to be the same the world over, at least from what I have heard.
Chapter 18 uploaded - length 28:04.
