Marie de Rabutin-Chantal, marquise de Sévigné (5 February 1626 – 17 April 1696) was a French aristocrat famous for the precision, clarity, wit and vividness of her letters, which deal with personal issues and also with public events in the France of Louis XIV ( barbara2)

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi David. I didn't thank you properly for adopting this project to MC.

I finally worked out the appropriate file name for the uploader. But now I notice that I've given the project a redundant title - The Letters of Madame de Sévigné to her daughter and friends by Marie de Rabutin-Chantal, marquise de Sévigné (1626 - 1696).

I don't trust myself to be able to edit the title of the project without shipwrecking the main page. When you have the time, could you please crop the title to a neat:

"The Letters of Madame de Sévigné to her daughter and friends."

Eternally gratefully yours,

Barbara

Sorry for my late reply Barbara, I've changed the title.
One note, I noticed you've used an upper case L for letters - we need all lowercase for the filenames.

eta...I see you've uploaded a 'lowercase' filename. I've corrected the MW. :)

Hi Barbara,

These are as lovely as I remember them and you are the perfect reader for the work.

At 14:35, 16:15, and 17:49 I hear "1688" for "!668."

My best,

Pam

Thanks Pam. Fixed. But what a weird error! Was I thinking of the Glorious Revolution??
