The Personal History of David Copperfield by Charles Dickens (1812 - 1870).

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/david-copperfield-ver3-by-charles-dickens/
Enter Later ( Peter Keeble)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/766/
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Peter, MW coming up.

edit: I'm inclined at this moment to use the shorter, more commonly used title, David Copperfield, in our catalog. The book cover shows that title and it would pair it with the other versions in our catalog. Using the fuller title is a nice touch though and I would encourage you to use it in the reading (at least for the first intro and book ending statements). For the second and later chapters you might use the shorter book title. It's your decision. The filename is long and I shortened it. Long filenames tend to have typos that are hard to spot and that lead to problems. Listening to this will be like a Christmas present for me. Thanks!

The intro does not give the author's name. E.g. After giving your name as reader, say "The Personal History of David Copperfield, by Charles Dickens. Preface."

Also the filename should have the section number in it not the word, "preface." E.g. davidcopperfield3_00_dickens_128kb.mp3

I agree with your thinking on the length of the title and will use the shortened version until the end of the book
