The Mob Violence and the American Negro: My Experience in the Sunny South by Velley Lester (1875 -1926).

According to the author of the Preface, Mr. H. H. Murrell: "Mr. Lester is also zealous to bring about a better relation and a better understanding between the white and black races. His denunciation against mob violence is bitter, but pleads for just treatment and a fair deal in court and equal protection from the authorities of the law." ( )
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/mobviolenceameri00lest
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Here it is, Dave. I put in 15 entries, but it is a bit of a hodgepodge, so we may add or detract later. I think it is 85? pages altogether. I am going to have the introduction separate. Thanks.

MW coming up.

edit: Let me know if you want the first section to be numbered 0 rather than one. I can argue both ways.

Here is Section 4. The next chapter in the text is 16. Do I assume that that is an error or that text has been lost? And by the way, we have been so efficient that I am now down to two projects. Have you anything you need me to help with? If not, what is your interest?

Yes, I would assume that some of the text was lost and call the next chapter 16. You might want to warn readers in the summary. Back to you on the other issue.
