The Best Nonsense Verses, Chosen by Josephine Dodge Daskam (1879 - 1961).

Josephine Dodge Daskam, aka Josephine Daskam Bacon, selected these nonsense verses with the permission of their authors. I enjoyed the familiar ones from Lewis Carroll, Edward Lear and W.S. Gilbert as well as the others that were new to me from Guy Wetmore Carryl, Charles E. Carryl, Oliver Herford, Gelett Burgess, George du Maurier, Rudyard Kipling and Anonymous. (Grace Buchanan)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://gutenberg.org/ebooks/20353
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I am making a cover for this book.

Please note that the Table of Contents in the 1901 and 1902 editions of this book is incomplete. Someone overlooked the verse by Rudyard Kipling!

OK, your MW is up and ready for you, and Lomond is in as DPL (thank you, Lomond!). I am off to reserve the cover for you as well. As soon as I know that everyone has seen what I had done, I will move us over to Going Solo!

Greetings -

What a fun book this will be! How can you go wrong with the Jabberwocky?

A fun book, indeed, and a very good reader.

Looking forward to more, Grace.

All of the first five sections are definitely PL OK.
