The Boy Scouts on Swift River by Thornton W. Burgess (1874 - 1965).

  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://hdl.handle.net/2027/hvd.hn5hze
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Yep. I have the first four chapters recorded, just haven't been editing. It took a lot to get the book downloaded. They would only let me do a page at a time. Then I had to reformat in Word.

Oh goodness! Well that explains why you haven't posted.

For me, substituting turned into 5 days a week 8am-1pm so I'm trying to stay on top of things but 'trying' is certainly the operative word.

God's way of having us both slow down?
I've read through much of this story, and it's another good one! I think I'll feel good about doing this series.

Hi Linny,
Thanks, you can add Ch 4 for your list, if you'd like.
I don't mind the time we've been taking, I just hope all is well with you and yours.

All is well with us. My husband has been out of work since March so I got a job. The transition to working out of the home again has been a very large transition. I haven't yet figured out how to make everything fit but it's getting better every week.

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's job. It's such a hard thing to deal with, along with many other things it sounds like. I can understand some of your previous comments about how listening to the stories can be a welcome escape. I hope this can be that for you.

Chapter 1-4 are all PL OK. Let's not have any others like chapter 4, deal?

Chapter 5 is PL OK. I hope you weren't waiting long. I didn't know it was ready.

Thanks! I wasn't. As so often happens, I had high hopes of getting a couple chapters set. Then life happened.
I hope you are able to enjoy Thanksgiving!
We have a few of our kids coming with their families.
