The Boy Scouts on Lost Trail by Thornton W. Burgess (1874 - 1965).

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-boy-scouts-on-lost-trail-by-thornton-w-burgess/
Walter Upton again sets out with a group of boys on a great adventure in the North Woods, this time on foot. They've heard of a trail that had been used in the days of the settlers, and are seeking to locate and map it all the way to Canada. Their journey will test the skills they have, as well as learn new ones as they develop from boys to men, and learn to handle situations they never considered.
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/boyscoutsonlost00corsgoog/mode/2up
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I hole to get the titles in this evening.
Right now, my 8yo wants to play Monopoly.

Enjoy!

Ch 2 is ready.
I didn't realize Pat Malone was going to be such a big part.
He's a bit of a challenge.
I think this will be a fun trip.

Chapter 1 is PL OK. I'll be back in a bit for 2 and 3. I try to PL in order of upload and I haven't had much time for PLing this week.

Chapter 2:
9:46 – word change – “It listens good to me, seeing that Main trip is off,” sail Hal promptly.
Recorded as loosens

Chapter 3 is PL OK!

This sounds as if it's going to be a great little story. I've forgotten, are there more after this one?

Thank Linny,
I think I'll leave it. I actually did say listens, but it's pushed together and in Hal's bottom-of-the-throat voice.
There is one more after this: in a Trapper's Camp. That's in Gutenberg also.

These are a lot of fun to do, that's for sure!

I managed to get Ch 4 and 5 ready for PL.

I'll try to get more this week, so you can do them next weekend in a group, if you like.

I was away so I have hours of PLing to do. I'll catch up as soon as I can.

I'm glad to hear there is another one. These are fun. :D

I took ages to get caught up but I've finally found my way back here.

Chapters 4 and 5 are PL OK. Pat Malone has arrived and the adventure begins! No fishing poles, no tents, no sleeping bags? I would not be a good camper.

Welcome back to the expedition!
Even when I took the Boy Scouts out to NM for an 80-mile hiking trip, we brought along tents.
Of course, nylon and aluminum are easier to bring than canvas.

No weaponry, though.

6-8 are all PL OK. I have some shopping to do but then I'll be back to finish catching up.

"Who wants windows and doors while camping?" I do!
