[COMPLETE] London Labour Volume III -ans
Hope you didn't start on 41 yet, Peter. The next section was going to be extremely short, so I've added it on. If you have started, I can always go back to the first version. Just let me know.

That's great. Thanks.
A bit different, eh? He's doing birds and animals etc rather than the people who pass, but it's still amazing. Pity we don't see samples of his work.

I'm sure that some of the Victorian silhouettes are still floating around, perhaps in museums, but Mayhew shows these crafts as being so personal.
Section 42 PL okay ... unless you want to have a look at the following.
0637 When he first came to London he turned to carpentering ... I hear "carpenting" instead of "carpentering"

When I boosted it, extra sounds were audible so I ended up going through the whole thing again, which is why it's slightly shorter.
So odd, though: in playback it's hitting the orange and even red at times, yet the recording is uniform and now within the accepted range.

Gill,
Section 43: just a couple of very minor edits you might like to make.
10:39.12-10:39.24 Odd noise in middle of phrase "... seldom or never are members of any association, ..."
21.54 ' ... a remuneration it affords for their labour, should continually lower ..." I hear "offers" instead of "affords"
What a nightmare of a world for these workers. And people complained when unions started to become more powerful! We're lucky that we never underwent the equivalent of the French Revolution .. though that may simply be because the target of the revolt would have been so much more diffuse here.
