Kevin, cases 34-44 (sections 36-46) are ready for you. I've got 3 Civil War cases left to record, then on to Reconstruction. One central theme of the Civil War cases seems to be how the Senate grappled with the whole notion of secession--was it even possible and, if so, what did that mean for the status of senators from the seceding states. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Senate deals with readmission, and there's a hint or two of that in these cases.

Thanks for listening,

Joanne
Fascinating reading/listening.
What? What's that? Why are you shouting?

Kevin, the first of the Reconstruction cases are ready for you. The weather here in Minnesota is great this weekend--likely the last few days of summer before fall falls hard on us--so I may not get back to recording until early next week. In the meantime,

thanks for listening,

Joanne

I'm in Wisconsin. I know how precious these days of late summer are.

Kevin, the balance of the Reconstruction cases are posted for your PL. Some of them are pretty wild--competing legislatures and all. I'll start on the next section in the next few days--hoping for some garden-variety corruption for a change!

Thanks for listening,

Joanne

Reconstruction is probably the least understood period in American history.
