The House Opposite by Elizabeth Kent (1875-1947 ).

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-house-opposite-by-elizabeth-kent/
While trying to escape the heat, a doctor witnesses some strange behavior of his neighbors. Suddenly, everyone and no one become suspects in the killing of an anonymous victim. With all the twists and turns, you will be guessing until the very end. ( Sharon Kilmer)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/41525
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi,
Chapter 1 is PL OK!

I know's it's way too early to even guess at what happens in this book, but crawling around on the floor at 2 am sounds a teeny bit unusual. :D

Chapter 3 is ready for review. I had difficulty reading parts of this book because of its racist language.

Thank you,
Sharon :D

Chapter 3 is PL OK.

I understand what you mean about that chapter. I hope there's a lot less of that going forward.
