Sorry to take so long! I ended up having to get some unpleasant biopsies taken a couple mornings ago, and milked it for two days of being the Queen of Doing Nothing Productive.

Section 9 is PL OK

And all that digression - well, you know - when you can work in a way to drop names like Charles Darwin. . . 8-)

There is certainly no rush at all - please don't ever feel pressured or hurried in PLing this! Hope all turns out well with your health.

Section 10 is up. I don't know much about Miss Edgeworth yet, but her father certainly hung out with some strange people.

10 is PL OK

Uh, yeah - strange people. At least the one guy was up front about being ultra controlling.

Thanks! Section 11 is up in the MW. The book is growing on me again. And Mr. Day finds true love, in spite of himself!

PL OK for section 11

Poor Mr. Day, went through a lot. Miss Edgeworth's section of the book is kinda all over the place, though, isn't it? I'm having a difficult time keeping all the people straight and remembering exactly why they have a significance for Edgeworth's portion. Ritchie must not have had enough material on Maria, herself, to write a decent-length portion.

I wonder if Ms. Ritchie got a little too caught up in this memoir she is drawing from. Or it might just be that this family is like the Alcott or Bronte family, and so crucial to the author's story that it can't be left out. All I know is, we are through part 5 and she hasn't even written anything yet!
At any rate, section 12 is up. :D

Sections 12's reading is terrific, as usual. This file has more background noise than I usually hear on yours. It seems loudest on the front end, so if you feel like doing some Noise Reduction on it, I bet you can get enough sample stretch in the opening silence to run the function on the track.

Thanks! I think I took care of it. Maybe. Anyhow, if not, we shall try, try again!

Whew! Section 13 is up - but it was one of those readings and edits that felt like I was herding cats! Hopefully the end product does not reflect that!

Section 13 is PL OK

No worries - it flows nicely. Sounds like you sat down and read it smoothly without editing. :)

I don't understand the Belinda anecdote - the crying and not being able to mention the book again - why didn't she just say it was hers? There must be more to that story.

Section 15 is now up . In which Miss Edgeworth kind of finds love for a minute.

Sections 14 and 15 are both PL OK

How sad! If she knew herself well enough and truly would have disliked living in nobility, well, OK. But, even knowing full well how "condemning" a life it is for those of us who are not pretty, what a tragic, tragic self-image. :(
