A Book of Sibyls: Mrs. Barbauld, Miss Edgeworth, Mrs. Opie, Miss Austen by Anne Thackeray Ritchie (1837 - 1919).

This book is a biography of four woman authors whose names were well known by readers at the time of its publication (1883) : Anna Barbaud, Maria Edgeworth, Amelia Opie, and Jane Austen. Though most of us today are only familiar with the writings of Austen, all four of these women are well worth taking the time to get to know. The author, Anne Thackeray Ritchie, was the eldest daughter of William Makepeace Thackeray. ( Ciufi Galeazzi)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/30435
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I can MC this for you. I'll set up your MW now.

Edit: You should be all set up now. I shorted the file name and replaced the link to the text with the general link to the text.

Let me know if you have any questions.

After the chapter 1 intro, I was planning to just say the title as A Book of Sibyls and leave out the rest. But I felt that if I left it out initially, no one would know what on earth the book was about. Is that okay?

So just changing the subsequent sections and leaving the initial section and the end of book as the full title? If so, I'm ok with that. Please update the initial project post so there is no confusion between yourself and your DPL.

If you were thinking something different. Please explain.

   As I did the recording of section 1, I realized that I mispelled Barbauld. I fixed it in the the overall title, but I don't know if anything else needs to be changed.

It’s not a problem. I can change it in the database for the catalog.

Once you get the MW filled in I’ll move you over to going solo.

Please add a title for the first section in the MW. I want to ensure you aren’t having any problems getting in. As soloist you are also the BC and responsible for updating the MW.

Please also edit the first post for the intro to subsequent chapters to match what you want to say. Use the pencil icon at the top right of the post to edit.

Let me know if you run into any issues.
