Thanks! Yes, I'm enjoying reading it, very sprightly and detailed.

Here's Section 4 - (Baldwin's Balloon) - (length 7:29)
https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/curtissaviationbook_04_curtiss_128kb.mp3

That's the end of the opening set of chapters by Mr. Post. The next section is going to be Mr. Curtiss's own first hand accounts of the early flights of the Aerial Experimentation Association, including the flight of the June Bug. That should be fun to read! The original June Bug no longer exists, but we saw a replica when we visited Hammondsport. We also saw a reconstruction of the 'Wind Wagon" mentioned in the "Baldwin's Balloon" chapter, a very ungainly contraption -- (no wonder it frightened the horses!)

Thanks, Rapunzelina! That's all for this week, I think, as I'm going to go do some work on a group project. But there will be more of Curtiss's experiments coming next week!

Section 9 is PL OK!

I was looking to see if any of this story has been made into a movie, but could only find documentary clips.
I think it would make for a great movie, or even more so a series to include all the interesting information!

I don't think there has ever been a major motion picture focused on Curtiss, only the occasional documentary.
Too bad, because there's so much excitement to the earliest years of aviation to fill up a movie, and Curtiss's role hasn't received as much attention as some others, and would be fresh for exploration.

You're welcome! I'm enjoying it!
Just one optional edit for Section 10, if you decide it's worth changing: around 4:24 text is "waiting for propitious weather", I think I'm hearing "precipitous"

Your ears were correct! And it is definitely worth changing, since propitious weather and precipitous weather are completely different things!
Here's the corrected Section 10 (length unchanged).

And Section 11 - (Flight Down the Hudson River) - (length 34:03)
