This project is now complete! All files can be found at https://librivox.org/vida-vertiginosa-by-joao-do-rio/

  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/vidavertiginosap00rioj/mode/2up
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Section 1. I had time to listen. Very amusing! Concordo com tudo isso!

Only one problem and that was at the opening (1:31) where there is a repetition.

I am always tempted to record random sections when doing a solo.

Section 4 PL OK!

Hahah! I never had tea in Brasil except in the Japanese neighborhood of Liberdade in São Paulo.

Oh, and mate with a family from the far south. Would one call that tea?

Oh, I would say mate counts as tea. But in Rio, for the dismay of the southern folk, we have it iced. And with lemon. I love it. My daughter, even though we moved here to Espírito Santo when she was only eight, still has iced mate almost every day.

On the other hand, I drink black tea quite often. But that was after I lived in the south of England for six months. :)

I am so tempted to translate these essays! Is the author found in English at all? Do you know?
