Chapter 15 is ready for PL.

This section has an example of how the Gutenberg edition sometimes misses a chunk of the original. You won't notice it if you are just listening to the audio, but anyone who was following along in the text would notice that, quite near the end, around 31:45, the Gutenberg text reads: "'Good morning,' said Connal, who had now mounted his Mr. Ormond...” [Mounted his Mr. Ormond??! ] No. A couple of lines from the original are missing. It should read: "'Good morning,' said Connal who had now mounted his horse, 'au révoir, mon beau-père,' and bowing gracefully to Mr. Ormond…"

You're right - I would have been irritated but thinking maybe that I'm missing some subtlety of the language...
So you own a hard-copy of the book?

No. Whenever I suspect that something has gone wrong, I check archive.org's photo version of the text. This seems to be the version that was scanned for the Gutenberg text. You'll notice, for example, that in the case of that problem with Chapter 15, the line breaks on the original page match exactly the line that was missing. (And there will be other cases of this exact match of line breaks later in the book.)

Of course, what I don't know is how many little textual errors slip in that I don't notice because they didn't interrupt the sense enough to bother me. For example, only because I had to look at that page, I also noticed that in the very next line — "command me too" — the "too" was missing in Gutenberg.

I suppose a safe solution would be simply to read directly from that photo version at archive.org, but I still find it a lot easier to work with the text download from Gutenberg, even if I have to be watchful for corruptions.
